Interesting design. We did free form as it seemed more practical but I'm very fond of the geometric designs. Just curious, was that just the width you wanted or were you working with certain constraints?

Well, ideally, we would have liked it a little wider, but we:
have an easement to deal with
wanted to keep it far enough away from the house
wanted to retain a decent amount of decking

It's starting to look like something, with most of the coping in place.
I feel sorry for my poor builder. I strongarmed him into ordering custom, double bullnosed coping pieces for the top of the raised beam and around the spa so we wouldn't have seams running lengthwise. There was some sort of miscommunication and not enough pieces got ordered, so now he's going to have to remobilize the coping guy next week.
It amazes me that this guy doesn't blink an eye when something like this happens.
There must be a whole lot of contingency in the contract price.![]()

Is that a sewer line going through your pool?![]()
Yes, I thought I'd leave it in there to add some character.![]()
Actually, they completed the permanent reroute, but, for some reason, they haven't removed the temporary line yet.
Maybe they don't want the cavities to get all full of heaven-knows-what.
