Here is a couple of pictures...sorry to confuse you, the pictures you viewed earlier were not updated and the SunDeck wasnt installed yet. You can see in these pictures that the decking goes all the way around the back of the pool (except for behind the waterfall) and then back into the existing porch and around the side of the house. The decking was a MAJOR part of our cost but in the end we are happy with it. I am glad to hear that you are having a much better experience than we did...maybe we were just too far out of town. Anyway, good luck and keep sending us those updates!

Thanks for the update. I didn't want to be rude, but I was thinking to myself, 'That just looks like concrete with no texture.' I was thinking maybe the pictures were just really deceptive. It looks entirely different in the new pictures - very nice. Just curious, what would you estimate the square footage to be in the portion actually seen in the pictures?

BTW, they are installing our coping as I type. I should have some updated pictures in just a while. And yes, we are very happy with Richard's at this point, however, being far out of town is no excuse for delivering poor service in your case. They knew how far away you lived when they took the job, and your money.

I don't know if you can or want to go this route or not. My PB has given me the flexibility of adding more deck (at cost) if we decide to do so. His only stipulation is that I will need to be there during framing (to make adjustments) and the pour (to pay). I will have to write a check to the concrete company for the additional concrete if I add additional decking. Perhaps you can negotiate that with your PB to help knock a few pennies off the top and get what you really want. His true responsibility is his obligation to the contract you and he signed (Words from my PB's mouth).

A side note to "Ready2Swim", you have a great looking pool layout and decking. I hope ours turns out to be as nice as yours looks.

The tile and coping was underway when I left today. I'll have some more pictures tomorrow. BTW, our flagstone looks identical to yours - color and the way it was cut too. They had it all laid out along the beam to get the fit right, but before I could take a picture, they had taken it off to start doing the next stage.

We also marked off our yard with spray paint today as to where we want the decking. The pb will be out tomorrow to tell us the total square footage and we may add a little more from there.

Lots of progress today! I'm including picutres of the tile and coping and the toe tile. They will finsish the stacked stone on the back of the spa once the deck goes in.

We did the final layout on the deck today - went from 460 to 700 sq ft. That will give us a nice amount up by the house and a minimum of 3 ft around the pool and about 5 ft behind the spa.

Looking good. Accent tiles (marker, toe tiles) on the step look good. Looks like your yard finally dried up, as did ours. Our plumbers got delayed yesterday. They arrived as I was leaving for work this morning. I spent all last night getting my speaker wires ready to run in the trenches they plan to dig today. Keep the pics coming.

This may be a lilttle late but I always use Malibu lighting wire for exterior speakers. It's made for the enviroment. Regular speaker wire will not last as long if burried.

Phillbo, I will actually be running underground conduit x 2. One set for speaker wires and the other will be for landscape lighting/ electricity that I will attach to my PS8. That way if I do have trouble, I can always pull other sets through with little effort.

Sean, I saw your post on the speakers as well. I got 86'd by the one who wears the pants in the family for wall-mounts. She wants rock speakers in the landscaping. So I have compromised and managed to find a set of speakers with built in subs in the rocks. I can't have music without the full range of sound.

Thanks. We had our outdoor speakers wired when the house was built, so that's one thing I didn't have to worry about.

I went with the builders generic speakers since it was a package deal with the wiring, and volume control, but I have to say, I am surprisingly pleased with the sound quality. According to the installer, they had them made to their specs from the facotry in Japan that produces sony and JBL, I think. I've auditioned quite a few outdoor speakers and think these sound as good or better than any I've heard, with the possible exception of the Klipsch. The Klipsch are actually a little cheaper than the Bose and Infinity, but I thought sound much cleaner. Like these, if anyone is in the market: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1082742914946

Well, barring bad weather, they will be pouring our deck tomorrow. I understand that once the concrete is poured, we need three days with no rain before the top coat can go on. Here's hoping for a dry weekend.

It looks like you chose the same tile we did. The only difference is that they didnt deliver our toe tile so we ended up settling on using the 6" tile cut into 1/4 peices to use as the marker tiles. Everything looks good so far...keep up the good work.

On a seperate note, did you go with the easy touch system? We finally got our programmed yesterday and I am so thankfull we did it, so far that is my favortie part of the entire pool...of course what man wouldnt want another remote?
