I would use a sequestering agent - vinyl pools do stain, although not as easily as fiberglass or gunite. Just to be on the safe side - it won't hurt, and it will bind up any copper that is left from the pristine blue. Sometimes the water just turns a light green from the copper too, and the sequestering agent will stop this also. Please ask any more questions you may have.
