Talking We just signed our contract and left the deposit....

We are getting our pool dug in the next few weeks and then built/filled and hope to enjoy soon but realizing that learning all of this is going to be a lot to learn and master. I am glad to see helpful folks in here.

Default We just signed our contract and left the deposit....

    Good day all,

We just signed our contract and left the deposit and digging starts soon our in-ground roughly 18x30 foot salt pool with infloor cleaning and pentair pump/filter.

I can't wait to have this after a warm/hot Arizona day.

Congratulations. A new pool is very exciting!

In the meantime while you wait on your pool, do a lot of reading here on the forum and on our sister website www.poolsolutions.com. That way, you'll know the basics when your pool is operational and can start things off on the right foot.

    Welcome to the Pool Forum!

EDIT -- (I didn't realize that you had another thread when I first wrote the stuff below. I am merging this thread with your other one.)

Welcome to the Pool Forum! How exciting to be getting ready to have a new pool built! While your pool is being built, do a lot of reading here on the forum and also over on our sister website www.poolsolutions.com. Lot of good info there.

A good way to start up the chemistry in a freshly filled pool is to use our Super Simple Start-up Recipe. It is not just for Intex pools but rather is appropriate for any fresh fill. You just have to adjust doses to match your volume. Read about it here:> http://pool9.net/ssr/

You'll also want to go ahead and order a good test kit so you'll have it from day one. The one we recommend is the Taylor K2006 or 2006C (better buy). You won't be able to buy it locally but you can get it through this link:> http://pool9.net/tk/

Here is a link you can use to search with. It searches the entire forum and also the entire Pool Solutions website:> http://pool9.net/search/

    Hope this helps!

Shouldn't be long. At the time that you registered, we had a whole slew of people all at once. Probably like 3 or 4 pages of threads to wade through! So sorry for the delay. Ben did a LOT of them yesterday and hopefully will have time to get to yours today. It is a slow process unfortunately and sometimes when the forum is busy with lots of questions from existing members, we don't get as many processed in a day as we would like. It will definitely be worth the wait, though. I can promise you that!

Again, glad to have you join us!

    . . . membership updated.

You may want to omit the in-floor cleaning, and select an booster pump cleaning systems instead. The in-floor systems are HUGE energy hogs, because of the high pressure they require to operate -- and you are stuck with an oversized pump even when the cleaner is off. Also, they tend to fail irreparably after 5 years or so. You can replace the pop-up, but you cannot replace the cartridge the pop-up goes into . . . and it wears, too. (Possibly someone has finally come up with a 3 piece popup: shell, cartridge and pop-up, so ALL the wearing parts can be replaced!)

Thanks for the feedback, it seems to be a better/newer design but all can/will fail.
We have set to go in:
    Presidential Pools 30' L x 17 W x 3.5-5.5' (89' perimeter) / Baja Step / Q-360 in-floor / Pentair VS3050 Pump with 420 filter / IC 40 Salt System / LED pool light /
3' Sheer decent spill / Radiant Fusion (think Pebble Sheen) Regal Blue / Acrylic Lace decking in Tea & Cream
