Default Walls caving in while filling

I have a 24' Westminister II pool. I am filling it for the first time.

The instructions said to start filling after the wall was up and the liner was in so I did. The walls started caving in at several places but as the pool filled most of these straightened out. Now the pool is almost completely full and there is one section that is bent way over almost to the water level.

What did I do wrong and how can I fix it?. By the way I have a beaded liner.

The Swim n Play installation guide is here: http://www.amerimerc.com/pImages/Ins...und-intall.pdf

I'm going to ask Dennis, who's an AG pool installer, to take a look if he has time.

But my guess is, the liner is over-tensioned. Probably, you'll need to drain the pool, and on a warm sunny day, re-stretch the liner toward the sides. You also need to note the dirt cove shown in the manual, and make sure that what you did, matches what they show. If there's an air gap at the corner, the water will tend to stretch the liner down, as the pool fills, potentially leading to results like yours.

Very much like Ben said, the liner was too tight and did not stretch. I doubt that area will push out but worth a try of course. If not you will need to drain the pool. With about an inch of water in the pool, in direct sun, it is usually possible to push the bottom out in all directions creating more liner at the walls. When a liner is tight you must use the sun while filling. As soon as the sun is off the liner it will loose it's elasticity and begin to pull down the side wall, or come out of the bead, one of the two. If that means only filling a few hours a day for a few days, it's worth it. Normally by the half way point the liner should be stretched and tight to the wall, at that point it's fine to continue filling without the sun.

    Hope this helps, Dennis
