    Default Gonzo's in trouble now

So after going too many seasons with a busted skimmer (cypress trees were cut down 3 years ago), I decided today was the day to rent a concrete saw and try to replace it. Wrestling with roots made this quite the chore. Vacuum wouldn't work off the skimmer, just lost pressure with too much air introduced. As I had suspected, besides the cracks in the bucket, the hose was broken off the skimmer way below. Looks like it was flex hose. I dug away at the hose about a foot back to see if I could find a fitting pried a bit to see if it was still flexy. It wasn't. Broke another 8" off. Generally speaking, does anyone know if it is typical to find flex hose back to the equipment landing or should I keep digging to find the connection to piping. Right now it looks like it will be time to call in the professionals. Thanks!

Flex hose -- both black polyethylene and tan (usually) flex PVC -- have been used underground in various markets. The black poly sometimes lasts awhile; the flex PVC doesn't do so well.

I have no idea what's common in your market.

    Sorry.
