Looking for a fun way to tell our kids we are FINALLY building a pool. Ideas?

Give 'em a big box of pool toys and wait for them to get it? Face it, you're going to buy the toys anyway.
OTOH pool construction can take a long time, maybe deny it's a pool until it's filled.
Congrats, Good Luck! and don't forget, this (and poolsolutions.com) is the best place to learn to care for your pool. Figure your pool care plan before it's built so you'll be ready when the pool is complete.
Most important pool tool you can buy: A Taylor K-2006 testkit. Not available locally, accept no substitute. If you buy it from the links on this page: http://pool9.net/tk/, PoolForum gets some coin to keep the lights on.
