We love new members like yourself who find us BEFORE they mess up their pools. That is a more typical scenario --- a newbie who comes to us after their pool is a mess!
In case you haven't found it yet, here is a link to our Super Simple Start up Recipe:> http://pool9.net/ssr/
Using that recipe will be the easiest way for you to begin.
Let us know if you have any questions and welcome to the Pool Forum!

Make a small investment in a Taylor test kit from WaterMom's or PoolDoc's signature and it will save you many, MANY times its cost!

What size is your pool? Do you have the cartridge filter or sand filter? Did you get the Intex SWCG? If you have the cartridge filter, go ahead and order 2 or 3 of the GOOD cartridges referenced here, http://pool9.net/ssr/ , unless you like cloudy water and very fine "stuff" on the pool floor (this is the voice of experience). If you have the SWCG, you "probably" want to disconnect the copper ionizer. Copper turns blonde hair green, stains liners, and will eventually make your water the color of the Statue of Liberty.
Enjoy your new pool!
