Similar issue here. We are losing an inch a day as well so I feel your pain
First you need to identify where your leak is coming from. With your pool pump off, Do a dye test around all jets, stairs, skimmers and main drain to determine if water is leaking out in any of these locations. Google best ways to perform a dye test in pools.
If dye tests turn up nothing you may have a leak in one of your main plumbing lines. Do a simple test by placing a piece of tape and mark your waterlevel then, with pump running, close your skimmer valve for a day to determine if leakage could be there and then alternately open skimmer valve and shut main drain line. Watch water levels for water loss.
If you still have inconclusive results you can turn off your pump and let your pool leak until you find the issue. For example if your pool stops leaking once the water drops beneath any stairs that is likely the culprit. Same for skimmer, then return jets then main drain. That's how we determined our main drain leakage. Though I waited until it was the end of the season because I didn't want to be with out a pool all summer!
Hope this helps![]()
