Unfortunately, this isn't an issue I recall encountering before. Maybe someone else has!
So we decided to take the plunge (ha) and build our first in ground pool. Yea! All the decisions have been made, contracts signed, placement staked out, etc. Expecting excavating equipment any day now. But wait, we now have received notice from our contractor that we are over the limit on impervious ground cover and have a stormwater management issue. Only way around these two items is to request a hearing before the zoning board, to the tune of $1500 and who knows how much time; and installation of an underground stormwater pit at a currently unknown cost (done by landscapers not the pool contractor).
So my questions are as follows:
1. Has anyone else had these issues and how long did it take to get resolved?
2. Who should be responsible for the zoning board fee? Us or the contractor?
3. What solutions did you use for the underground stormwater pit?
Starting to think this project isn't going to happen, so darn frustrated! Would appreciate any advise from those of you who know much more about all this then I do...
