Presumably the pipe is laying straight in the ground. If it's 'sprung', then yes that could be a problem. In that case, I'd use a union like this:Spears 497 Series PVC Union with EPDM O-Ring, Schedule 40, 1.5"BUT . . . you'll have to be careful with your cutting and spacing. You may have to use TWO unions, in order to create a drop in section.
Be sure to cut cleanly at 90 degrees,, to chamfer the outer edge of the cut, and to use BOTH primer and glue. Also be VERY careful not to get EITHER glue or cleaner into the union threads or joint.
