New to Pools and trying to figure this all out

Hey, silly questions are our specialty! Tell us about your pool. Do you have anything you need some help with?

First thing we are trying to figure out is the best base, should we remove the sod? Use sand or ground limestone and should we put pads undrr the legs?
We purchased a 14x42 Sunscape Proseries....mixed emotions as I can find both good and bad comments about this pool.
