It's pretty easy to install a shaft seal wrong or to pollute it with lube or dirt making it fail. It's also possible to pinch or distort the housing seal. Perhaps the housing or seal plate is cracked. Good luck.
Hayward Super Pump - Still leaking after replacing seal
Hi, New member, just bought a house with a pool and getting it opened for summer. Hayward Super pump is leaking when running, have tried to replace seals including gasket and ceramic seal but still leaking from bottom. Any ideas? Many Thanks

What he said! (Years ago, I had leaks the first couple of times I installed a pump seal. I learned to be VERY careful when doing so.)
