Help pool gurus

New on here. I absolutely need the definition of help.I am completely new to pool maintenance I just moved into my girlfriends moms house to fix up the place and she has an inground pool that hasn't really been taken care of for about 2 years and I am lost completely. so the pool is green and dirty I mean filthy they told us that we can't drain it just to clean it and treat it so I have a few questions and hopefully y'all can help me get started 1 I have scooped a lot of the leaves of the barBottom. however there is mud or silt and a very thick layer of it in the deep end I'm not sure if my main pump works and I know I have to get a new vacuum or a Polaris or whatever they call it my question is how can I get the money and the silt of the bottom other than the net because when I scooped it it all comes out of the net and turns the water brown any suggestions would be greatly appreciated I wish I had the money to just pay somebody to come in and fix it but I don't so manual labor it is how can I clean the bottom of my pool without No knowing if my pump works and without using the net on a pole is there a vacuum or a water pump I can get please help me any suggestions would be greatly appreciated because they are all better than what I have now I just want to go swimmingor is somebody knows a link to step by step directions to get my pool from green to clean it would be greatly appreciated

Whoa! Try using punctuation! At least use periods and capitals!
What you need first is information for us so we can help you.
Gallons and type of equipment.
You can take a water sample to a pool store and they can give you test results, which you can post here and we can interpret.

My apologies. I spoke it to my phone. And it doesn't put punctuation. My bad my bad. I will take a sample and post how can I find out the details on my pool. My go has no clue and her mom is the same. They just paid a company to take care of it after her husband past. So I'm kinda lost here. I can find out what pump I have and will post. I guess I could take a measure tape to see how deep . How can I find out the gallons

The rule is that one cubic foot of water contains 7.48 gallons of water.
