    Default Replacing dead inground pool light

    Pool light died, any suggestions for a new one, led?

    You need to verify that you can move (and remove) the electrical line to the light, before worrying too much about the replacement.

    Pool lights have a long waterproof cable that extends to an above-ground junction box. It's quite common for these to be installed badly, and to become permanently stuck as a result. Short of major excavations, there's no real fix if this is the case with your light.

    Some pool guys have become adept at removing these, using a combination of lubricant and cable pullers . . . but there are no guarantees.

    Might be a bad bulb. I have replaced many of my household bulbs with led, but my pool light is a 12 volt unit. I have not even looked to see if an led replacement is available. Mine had a bad socket a few years back and had to replace the bulb housing. Like Doc said, that involves pulling the old cord and housing out and running the new cord back to the junction box.
