Skimmer basket breaking repeatedly

I bought my pool in June 2012.
It's a AG 18' round and the skimmer on it is horrible. I have bought 6 new baskets since I have had it at $18 a pop. The baskets crack down the sides and bust. At first I thought my pump was too strong and busting them. Then I checked my moms skimmer basket and noticed that it was made out of really strong plastic were as mine is so weak I can push the plastic in with my hands. I thought I would just find a different basket to put in it but nothing fits in it properly. So now I need to change out the entire skimmer but I don't know what brand to go with.

Any suggestions?
