. . . it's possible to clean up, of course. But what's easiest or best depends on what sort of filter you have, and what it will cost to drain and refill. So . . .
What kind of filter?
How much will it cost you to drain and refill?
Pool filter failed. Water has been sitting for about two months. Super green, lots of little swimmers, bugs. I can only imagine what is on the bottom. I am replacing the filter this weekend. I refilled the pool last year. 14k gallons, uses chlorine system to sanitize.
Question, try and re-condition or drain and refill?

Installing pentair fnsp36 this weekend. Should cost between $100-150 in water.
Cleaning up a swamp with a DE filter is painful and expensive -- since you are in an area where there's no risk of high ground water lifting the pool, drain it!
(I'm assuming you have either a concrete or fiberglass pool? Do NOT drain a vinyl pool!!!)

I'm thinking he same thing.
Thanks for your input
I drained my pool last year due to extremely high CYA levels. Check with the city to see if they have anything for refilling pools, I was able to notify my city when I refilled my pool and received a lower rate for that period of time. Worth checking out.
