Default Getting ready to break ground. What am I in for?

Just stumbled upon this forum while I've been researching pool care subjects. We break ground on our pool in the next few weeks, weather pending. 21,000 gallon, plaster/gunite, SWCG.

My question now is what should I expect in the weeks after the pool is completed. Where can I find info on this forum about start up? Or any other sites that would be helpful? I hope to do the maintenance myself.

Second, what is a good app to use for monitoring chemicals and tracking maintenance?

Thanks, please be gentle I'm a rookie!

    1. We can help with the chemistry, but . . .

    2. For this season, you need to get your pool chemistry guide from your builder -- even if it's not a good plan. Plaster warranties commonly depend on your compliance with the builder's treatment plan. We can help you tweak it, but don't set your builder's teeth on edge by talking about the "BBB method" or other non-industry-standard approaches.

    3. For the same reason (warranty), log your pool care manually, in ink on paper.

When you have your builder's 'warranty-preserving' treatment guide, post it here, and we can make suggestions as needed.
