Unhappy Broken pipe in ground pool

    Hi All,
Seems I have a major issue and looking for some advise. I'm in the NE and we have had a pretty brutal winter so far but when we did have a warm spell I noticed my pool cover start to go way down. I have a gunite pool with a loop loc cover but the pool cover ripped where it spreads over some rocks and the weight of the snow and ice. The water level is about 3 feet below my returns so I'm assuming it's a drain pipe to my equipment, which is located behind the pool and lower. I don't see any major sink holes from the water and was looking for some advise before I start digging, when the snow clears or can I even wait? Not even sure how low the water can go and if that will cause more issues! :-(

Sorry for the long post as I'm a first timer and scared of what ahead of me!

ANY advised would be mush appreciated!

I'm very sorry to hear about your problem. I'm sure none of us want to have to address under ground broken pipe issues especially in the middle of winter. If it were me, I would try to find the builder and get their advice. If you don't know who built it, I'd call local builders and get their advice on how to proceed. I suggest calling more than one to see if you get different answers. The local guys should be familiar with local codes and conditions. One might have a clever approach, or they may all say the same thing, but then you'll have a realistic idea of what you are up against. Wish you the best.

Thanks, the waiting part (until the thaw) is what kills me!
