Hi Everyone:
So my pool specs are below. i do not understand how to test my CYA, so if someone could please tell me how to do that iit would be awesome. Thank you
12,000 Gallon
Brand New Sand Filter
Barracuda Vacuum
Kidney Shaped Dive pool 9.5 ft deep
Chlorine: 10 (I think as I use the cheapo test kit that only shows 5 and it is at least double that color)
pH: 7.4
ALK: ? (how do I test for this)
CYA: ? (same as above)
I have about 12 gallons of standard bleach, a bag of baking soda, and Botox standing by awaiting instruction. So far I have put (4) ea. 1 gallon bleach and scrubbed my pool about 3 times a day for the past two days and nothing has happened. I have spoke with my friend who uses the BBB method and he said to add bleach until it begins to clear but I didnt think that was correct. Please advise when anyone can. Thank you and excuse me for my lack of Pool chemistry knowledge. I am attempting to learn it. thank you again.

PoolForum newbies say all sorts of things (there IS a LOT to learn!), but usually they aren't this funny. "Botox" is highly dilute
). It's very unlikely that a diving pool is only 12K gallons. If it IS 12K gallons, it is NOT safe to dive in. Please measure your pool's max length, max width, ACTUAL water depth in both the deep and shallow ends, and report that. (About 30% of pool owners have SERIOUSLY bad values for their pool volumes).
