DD,
We're not here as a training service for new pool guys. Sorry.
There are MANY reasons why you could be losing chlorine. You should do what you know needs doing -- vacuum the pool, in this case, because organic matter can consume chlorine -- before you start looking for obscure causes.
If you want help, you are going to have either:
-- 1. Do your own homework, which I'll outline below
OR
-- 2. Pay me.
So, if you want help, do these things:
1. Read all the stickies here, and all the pages linked in my blue signature block. Read through the guide pages on PoolSolutions.com
2. Do the basic things you know to do -- vacuum! -- before asking questions.
3. Get a K2006C (like below!) and USE it. Also, buy (2 - 3) K1000 OTO kits, and start learning to use OTO as a quick test that covers the entire range of chlorine values.
4. Order a CPO manual, and read it. It's not completely accurate, but it's better than it was, and will acquaint you with many things you need to know: http://nspfcart.eproacademy.org/stor...p?idCategory=2
Once you've studied it, we can point you to info that's omitted, or wrong.
I'll copy this thread to the Pool Biz section of the forum, and leave it open, there. But I'm closing it, here.
