    Default Perflex DE Filter Question

I'm having a problem where after I bump or backwash and turn the pump back on, DE or algae shoot out of the eyes and back into the pool. Last time this happened a couple years ago, my wife took the finger to the pool shop and they replace a couple of the bolts, maybe "filter tube nest plate bolts" and everything worked fine. Now we have a new filter, still the same type and we are having the same problem. I tool the top off the filter and looked to see if any of the bolts were missing and they were all there, but all 20 or so of them were loose.

My question is; should the bolts be tighten? I tightened them all, but before I put the filter back together, I wanted to make sure that they weren't suppose to be loose. Thanks.

Unfortunately, I can't help you, because I've never worked on a Perflex filter.

You may get a helpful answer here, but you might want to post your ? at poolspaforum.com -- there are a lot of pool biz types there, and a pool serviceman who has worked on Perflex filters may answer. (Just don't take their chemical advice!).
