Check out this link for some info on Pristine Blue. I've read a little about it because I have a friend who wants to switch to Bleach.

I bought a house with baquicil pool and had a nightmare. I changed over to pristine blue because the little kid (20 years old or so) at the pool store who must have a lot of experience with pools because he works there told me how easy it was all i had to do is buy the chemicals from them. While at that time i came across this sight and I found out how easy it really is to take care of a pool with BBB. and i saved lots of money. You do need a good test kit and there is a learning curve but there is a lot of help here on this billboard. You just post your test results in the right area of the billboard and some one will tell you what you need to do.
Part of the learning curve is that most of the test results you get from the pool store may not be very accurate. That is why you need a good test kit, the ones you can get here are better than what you will see at the pool store. Plus the people will know what you have to test with and can help you easier.
