1)Pentair sells a two-speed Dynamo 1hp pump. It comes without a power cord. They also sell the identical pump with a 3 foot standard cord and plug. The one with the cord seems really hard to get while the one without the cord is readily available. Can a power cord which plugs into a 3-prong GFCI outlet be installed on these pumps fairly easily? The pumps do have on/off switches and a switch for the speed.

2) Can an in-ground pump be installed in an on-ground (i.e. half in half out) pool? There seem to be variable speed pumps for in-ground pools which are interesting.

Finally, can pumps such as a Hayward Super Pump VSP be left outside in the winter (covered) or would the electronics be damaged? Our current pump is a Pentair Dynamo and is 7 years old. It is still working, but loud, and needed very little work for winterizing. It is single speed, 1hp, self-priming.

Thanks,

Philip
