Pool vacuum questions from a newbie
I have a 10x30 Summer escapes quick set pool. I believe it only holds 1000 gallons of water. When i set it up I tried my best by putting down sand and trying to make it level. but not being completely level is beside the point for my question. Since I have sand below my pool, when we get in a little sand comes with us. I picked up a pool vac by hth for small pools and spas. The catcher that came with it did not cut it with the sand so I used the foot off an old pair of leggings. That worked to catch the sand. The real issue I am having here is that when i vac the pool floor out it requires me to have a garden hose connected, which in turn cleans the pool, but also fills it more and messes up the chemistry. I have to put another hose in it for about 45 minutes to drain it enough that I will not overfill when using the vac. What I am looking to possibly do is figure out how i can block off the discharge from my small pump and adapt it to a hose that I can use on my vacuum. I know i can go and get cheap tubing at lowes with a garden hose connection to do the job, but where can I get a reducer that will work to bring it from the pool hose down to the size for the garden hose? Also if i do this will the extra pressure made from recycling the water burn out my pump? Thanks for any advise in advance.
