Default New member with a question about bad filters.

Hi all. Hopefully this site can help me a bit as I am a complete newbie to pools. HAHA. I managed to snag a rental house with a pool and now I am trying to keep it going since my family is going crazy not being able to use it.

Anyways, I think I have a bad filter cartridge but I am not sure. Are there any symptoms to a bad cartridge? I would normally replace it but it is a few hundred dollars at the local pool store.

Thanks for any info you can spare.

You need to post with more info.

    - Why do you think the cartridge is bad?
    - Is your water clear or cloudy? Blue or green?
    - What kind of pool do you have (size, AG or IG, gallons)
    - What are your pH and chlorine levels? How did you test for that?

    Good luck
