Algae success with BBB method

I've been maintaining an inground 18x36 foot pool ~28000 gallons for 3 years now. Once the pool is opened I have no problems maintaining it, but opening has always been a nightmare.

I ended up with copper in my pool last year and went through around 600 dollars to finally get it in shape. Little did I know, I wasted most all of that money and deeply regret not doing some legitimate research earlier on. I stumbled again this year (literally just got the pool blue, still not crystal clear all the way to the bottom, seems to fog up the deeper it goes) but after literally drowning myself in information gathered from you guys and poolsolutions (?), I finally went to the BBB method.

My pool was a very dark green last Friday when I decided to ignore the "Pool Experts" at the local pool outlets and adhere to the BBB method. I bought a lot of bleach and used some of the tips mentioned in these forums and Monday morning it was blue (but cloudy). I still have some debris in the deep end that I'm about to go vacuum out now, but the change itself is almost unbelievable. I watched all the "turn your pool blue in 24 hours" youtube videos and didn't really think I could get this pool blue in 72 hours, but 48 hours later and I was golden (or blue..?).

Summary: Thanks for all the advice everyone is giving on this forum. I will start contributing what I can in hopes of helping the next 26 year old guy who really just wants to stop looking at a green pool achieve it without wasting as money and time as I have.

CL: 3
PH: 7.6
TA: 100
CYA: ? (This was literally 0, I've added some CYA and am using trichlor tabs until I get this up to ~50)

My pool is blue but gets foggy the deeper it goes. Ideas? I wouldn't mind jumping in tomorrow.
