After realizing that chlorine pucks in the skimmer isn't the best idea, I picked up a perform max chlorinator off C/L. Haven't yet installed it and was wondering about location. The chlorinator makers seem to recommend installing between the filter and pool return line. I read somewhere here that some recommended installing between the pump and filter as the chlorinated water keeps the filter from growing nasty things in it when not being used.

What is best? Is the increased water pressure from being upstream of the filter a possible problem?

Plumbing wise, installing it between the pump and filter would be nice as it requires shorter hose runs.
