    Question Question about sand loss from filter

    If i don't have enough sand in my filter , will i get a little backwash in my return

    Having sand in your backwash is the reason why you probably don't have enough sand in your filter. In other words, low sand doesn't cause backwash leakage: backwash leakage causes low sand.

    And . . . backwash leakage is commonly caused by the oversized pump / undersized filter combinations so typical of metal sided above-ground pool installations.

    I'm not sure if you posted the question in four different places on the forum or all in the Getting Started section of the forum when you didn't see the first one show up.

    But, just in case you didn't know ................... posts made by new members go into a moderation queue to wait until one of us (usually Ben or me) reads it, approves it and mods it in. So, it might not appear immediately, but we do try and clear out the queue multiple times per day. So, hopefully, it won't be too long before it shows up after you submit it.
