Default Hello! New Intex Pool Owner from Wisconsin

Hello all! My husband and myself recently (yesterday) purchased the Intex 14' x 48" Ultra Frame from walmart. I have to admit my husband was not to thrilled at first about buying a pool. But being the good husband he is he helped me set it up (and did most of the work for me!)

We had a spot right off our deck that seemed pretty level, so we worked at it a little and then added a layer of sand (I read online to do this for comfort of feet in the pool). After that we set it up and had it filled by 8pm yesterday. I was thrilled this morning when I went and checked the pool and found it to be less then an inch off level. Probably close to 1/2 inch!

I joined here to learn more about pools in general and their care. As well as looking to research diy heating options. I saw some videos on youtube of hose/copper tubes/pvc pipes on roofs or yards that seemed to work well.

Welcome to the Pool Forum! Do a lot of reading here on the forum, especially the stickied threads at the top of each subforum. Also, read on our sister website www.poolsolutions.com. Lots of good information there as well.

Be sure to check out the stickies in the Pool Chemistry for Intex-type Pools forum. It's a great start for pools like yours until you get a K-2006 and have read enough here and at poolsolutions.com to come up with a maintenance plan of your own.
