A lot of people leave trichlor tabs in a floater - this is OK if the CYA isn't too high and the pH is pretty high.
what to do while we're away on vacation?
We are just starting to set up a 12' intex pool. We'll have it up for about a month and then will be on vacation for 2 weeks. I'm really hoping we'll have another month or two of pool weather when we return. Can I leave water in the pool while we are gone? And if so, how should we treat it before we leave?

If you'll follow this recipe, your CYA will be high enough in a month, so that added chlorine will stick around for awhile.
