Is Administration on a holiday?

How long does it take to be approved? Would be nice to be allowed to use the search features at least. If there is something else most of us need to do, please tell us. Thanks for any replies and for posting this thread!

Agreed. Disabling search functionality is odd. My guess is us newbies are probably asking a question that has already been answered. If I don't hear back soon, I will try to find another site.

The administration is in the pool business, and has a father in the hospital. Instructions for how to register in such a way that you'd be granted full access were part of the stuff you didn't read when you registered.

Basically, anonymous registrations -- like yours -- get only limited access.

The reason is very simple: about 10% of my anonymous registrants are hackers, spammers, or sales hacks, and (since you are anonymous!) I have no way to tell quickly that you are not one of them.

At this point, your ONLY option for full access, until August when things begin slowing down, is a paid (non-anonymous!) subscription.

[ I'm currently behind on registration approvals, but those of you who DID include complete info that I can *quickly* verify will mostly receive full access. ]

The forum software I use has repeatedly had exploitable holes in the search function, so I've chosen to limit it to non-anonymous individuals. Almost by definition, hackers work hard to be anonymous.
