Initial setup

I have a 25x13 splash super pool. 10,500 gallons. Just filled it up yesterday for the first time. I am new to pools - so I'm looking at the forum to figure out my next steps. I have a basic test kit.....I know I need to upgrade it and will do so. The ph is 7.8 and no chlorine yet. Today I bought chlorine and CYA. I added the CYA per label directions and the pool is circulating. I am planning on adding the chlorine now that the sun is going down. I'm not sure exactly how much to add initially though. Any tips on how to proceed next would be greatly appreciated.

What kinds of chlorine did you buy? How did you add the CYA.

I added the CYA to the pool in the skimmer, then let it circulate for about 4hrs. I purchased Clorox bleach 6% and added that in the evening. I dumped in (4) 96oz jugs.

To dissolve CYA, you're more likely to need 24 hours, than just 4.

Add your bleach in the late evening, and run your pump for 24 - 36 hours to dissolve that CYA.
