Default Getting ready to set up our first pool

Good morning! It's raining here in TX so I was browsing for info about pool care and stumbled in here. Thanks for hosting this resource - looks like a go-to place for everything I need to know.

I was looking at the 'before you fill your pool' sticky before I registered and had a question:
Does the dosing chart in the 7 day plan cover chlorine AND borax or is that just chlorine?

    Our pool:
15' x42" intex metal frame ag
    637R filter pump
    Approx volume 4600 gal

Also, can you elaborate on the info I'm seeing in members sigs? Particularly towards the ends...
Thanks again! Look forward to my education!

The dosing plan covers EVERYTHING you should be doing to your pool when you start up, unless you have water with staining metals present (usually well water; rarely acidic tap water arriving via copper pipes).

    Thanks Doc.

When my chemicals come in should I dissolve in water before putting them in the pool as suggested by the Intex documentation or does the dichlor and borax dissolve quickly enough to apply directly?
