Default How to ID pool pump

    Hello all!

Great site with tons of info, thanks so much.

My pump has the very loud whine, but wont turn on. The impeller spins very easily so i tried replacing the capacitor, but no luck as it does the same thing.

This pump was replaced about 3 years ago under a home warranty. The problem is the pump is painted completely black with absolutely no stickers or markings.

From the info i have gathered i need to replace the bearings in this pump. Can anyone help identify exactly what pump i have after i have it apart? Or can you tell just looking at it?

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Peace,

How to ID a black pool pump?

Take pictures, and post them here with Picasa, Photobucket, Webshots or Flickr.

By the way, your Pool Chart data lists your pool as a rectangle, but you did not provide a width measurement.

I took my pump motor apart, carefully cleaned the bearings, and located part numbers on the bearings. I found the bearings at a local Fastenal for about 3 bucks each.
