Thanks for the info. I am off to Fleet Farm to buy about 20 jugs of Chlorine. I have used it in the past for chlorinating wells and had no problem. I mixed 1 gal. chlor to 5 gal h2o and poured in about 5 buckets to a well. Killed the iron algae and took the smell right out. Hope it is as easy to use in my pool as in my late 60's, I am tired of mixing granular and slowly pouring to avoid dumping the settled calcium into the pool. Making sure not to raise my hardness over time. Just too much work.
One last thing. The old Blue liquid, [cleating agent] used clear up pools, smelled like butyl rubber, is it still around. Worked great but can't find it anymore.
