I'd probably recommend an Intex pool, since it sounds like you will be installing it. Here's what I'd recommend:
1. Look through the Intex install videos here: http://www.poolforum.com/pf2/showthread.php?15192 and look at the pools here:Intex 54979EG 24-Foot by 12-Foot by 52-Inch Rectangular Ultra Frame Pool2. Get EITHER an HTH 6-way test kit (check availability: HTH 6-Way Test Kit) at Walmart OR order a K-2006 from Amazon (see test kit info page linked in my sig)

3. From your IP address it looks like you are out in the boonies of West Texas . . . and may be on well water. You need to TEST your fill water, and if it's well water, do a bucket test to check for metals, etc.
4. Your filter selection probably needs to be based in part on your fill water. Most AG pools end up with pumps that are too big and filters that are too small; you may need the opposite.
Once you've done that, if you want to look at a metal sided AG pool, make SURE you pick one that has installation and setup videos. We hear from a LOT of folks who get started on a DIY AG pool install, and then get stuck. Not fun!
Once you've narrowed down your choices of pool, we can probably help you pick options and the like. By the way, prices at Walmart and elsewhere on Intex pools will begin dropping by June 15 or so.
