I added salt to my Intex donut to about 3000ppm. We liked it, I think it did feel better. I haven't since we intalled our AG with steel everything. I may when we have the money saved for an IG but for now - not for us.
I was bored, and reading some threads from 2006 like this:
http://www.poolforum.com/pf2/showthr...t-observations
Although I doubt any of these folks are still around, I was wondering if anyone else here has been keeping a lower salt level in their regular ol non swg pools...specifically AG, since these threads were written, which would be about 6 years ago.
I am interested in adding the salt to make the water feel nicer...but concerned about the long term effects on the metal parts of an ag pool.

I add salt to my AGP each season, about 2200 ppm. At that point the water feels very silky and smooth. I haven't noticed any adverse effects on the pool equipment, no corrosion or rusting.
