Any advice for first-time Zeosand user?? I read about initial backwash but wondering if it's worth the extra money?

No particular recommendations; it seems to work OK.

Sounds like you already have it? If so, you're the best judge of whether it's worth it or not. From what we've seen (including one of the moderators here) it seems to work OK, and is cheaper to ship, because it's lighter. But, otherwise, it doesn't seem to perform any better than sand.

I've had zeo for the last 3 years or so and have been satisfied with it, but I don't notice a difference in water quality between zeo and the sand I had for years before that....
