Yes we did buy a new liner and the ones I have called have just said the installers only install their pools.

We've had several questions like yours this year . . . and the overall trend seems to be that buying a used AG is a bushel of trouble for a peck of savings.

The problem is, it's a high risk, low profit enterprise for builders. If they are busy, they won't work for you because their regular work pays better. If they are smart, and not starving, they won't work for you . . . because trying to get parts for an oddball, hard to ID, used AGP pool is HARD, and you won't want to pay them, if they get it 3/4 installed, and have to let it sit for 2 months while they hunt for parts.

So, what you're left with is, the only installers who will work for you are either (a) stupid, (b) new to the business and don't know better, or (c) starving, often because they are either (a) or (b).

Lots of pool builders went out of business in 2009 and 2010. The ones who are left are busy this season.

You might get lucky, but otherwise your best bet might be to call around this FALL (when they are slow) and offer them $400 up front or something to HELP you install it. They might consider something like that.

If you want to swim this summer, you might be better buying a new Intex pool.
