33 views and any advise??
Hello everyone,
I bought a house in New Orleans without a pool and we are really missing the one we had at the old house. Before we decide to get a pool I would like to hear any suggestion from you guys.
I stared getting a few prices around here for concrete pools and fiberglass pools but they are a little bit high.
So, I might buy a fiberglass pool and install it myself (contracting a few people to do what I can't)
please any advise will be appreciated

I changed your title to one less likely to attract curiosity traffic, and more likely to attract people who might have something to say on the topic. But you have to keep in mind that the people who have actually contracted their on in-ground pool is quite small -- a LOT more people think about it, than do it. And in general, our focus here (and our expertise) is on helping people OPERATE their pool, rather than on helping people design and build one.
The closest thing I know of to a guide for your situation is Ben Choi's site (which he started as a thread, here): http://www.howibuiltmyownpool.com/
But I think his pool is more elaborate than what you have in mind.

I'm not really sure what advice you are looking for. Fiberglass vs. concrete? How difficult it is to do yourself? How to get started? ????? That may be why you aren't getting replies, plus the fact that most people do not build their own pools. Also, most of our members have either vinyl or gunite with fewer having fiberglass.
At any rate, welcome to the Pool Forum!
EDIT -- looks like Ben was posting while I was typing. I think we are kinda both saying the same thing ---- there are few members here who have pool-building advice and thus you won't have many who can help with advice about this.
