Help! restoring pool that was filled in!

we have a 16x32 inground gunite pool thet previous owners had filled in with sand...we finally got all the sand out and the pool pressure washed,we removed old tile. The pool had 2 bore holes in the sides (1 on each side in the deep end) of the pool 8-10 inches around we read on another forum that the bore holes could be cleaned grinde down and filled with hydraulic cement well we did that and we have a little leakage from each hole! please help any suggestions

You can probably get a watertight bond in your holes, but it would take some careful prep to do so.

1. You'll need to remove all of your patch.
2. Clean the sides of the bore hole, and then either grind or acid etch them so the new cement can adhere.
3. Read the literature on the Waterplug, and make sure you understand.
4. PRACTICE with the Waterplug -- it sets VERY fast, and you've got to finish before it sets, or you'll get a weak patch.
5. Pack the bottom of the hole, so you can tamp the Waterplug in hard.
6. Plug the holes with Waterplug.
7. Remember, with patching and painting, proper prep work is ESSENTIAL.

Waterplug is an OLD product that I've used numerous times, but it works very well IF you follow directions. It is a high strength, high bond, waterproof EXPANDING cement, so it fills holes well.

Read the instructions BEFORE you buy the product. The picture is of a 10# bucket, but the link is to a 50# bucket, which will be more than you need. However, the 10# buckets may not allow you to practice AND repair the holes. DO PRACTICE! If you store the leftover WaterPlug in a dry location, out of the sun and dam, and with the lid tightly sealed, it will keep for years.
