    Run the pump all night if you think there's a chance you'll have frost but 50s day 30s night shouldn't freeze your new pool.

    Dave is right. Briefly dipping to 30 isn't usually a big deal. Now, if it went to the mid-20s for any length of time, you might have a problem. If you have any concerns, then just run the pump overnight or put it on a timer to kick it on briefly a couple of times during the night. It wouldn't have to run very long.
