Default Hayward heater Keypad / Bezel replaement question

Hi all. I need to replace a Keypad/ Bezel for a Hayward H250 heater.. Mine replacement part is the old style, model IDXL2BKP1930. Im looking to see if I can replace it with a much cheaper version, FDXLBKP1930. I understand I will need to modify it to fit properly, however all connections and buttons look to be in the same place.

Is there anyone out there that may be able to comment on ability to do this... It would save me about $100 in replacement costs.

    Thanks much
