Hi All,
I have had a Pool Pilot Total Control system for a few years now and like it a lot. Recently I noticed the cell was always on, no matter what the ORP level was set at on the display. I talked with Pool Pilot tech support and they suggested that it was probably the 837 card. Because of the price of the card alone compared to the entire 75003 unit, I just bought the 75003. Replaced it and I still have the same problem. Display always shows the cell on no matter what the set point. The new unit does display something different below the ORP setting now, it says "external". The only thing left "I thought" that could be the problem was the 839 card in the 75001. Replaced it, and still the same problem.
I have no idea what to do now, completely baffled.
Paul

External is usually related to jumper position on the circuit board. However, you're saying (if I read correctly) that this display occured after you replaced the complete 75003 unit and the 839 circuit board (in the 75001 pool chemistry controller)?
Specifically on the 838 board (the one on the bottom of the 75003), there is a two position terminal marked TB2. This should be empty, with nothing connected to it. If these two positions are shorted, or jumped together, this will cause the External display to show. Please check this and let me know what you find. You can contact me directly as well.
