There is NO automatic upgrade to "Registered", or rather "Registered+".

You can post already -- with a delay -- if you are "Restricted" but it's very hard to spam. I tried to manually upgrade folks, but it takes too long to check out all the info.

And I tried auto-upgrading (after X number of posts) but I've got a bunch of spammers lurking in the "Restricted" group. While they are "Restricted", they can't do anything very useful to them, but I know they are there because occasionally one will go ahead and try, get caught during moderation, and end up banned forever.

What I have done is create the "CheckMeOut" subscription for $4, which allows you to permanently get "Registered+" status . . . . if (BIG if!) you update your profile to include valid personal info that spammers are afraid to give. But, here's the "BUT": But, if you give me bogus info, you LOSE the $4 and stay restricted.

The cost eliminates most spammers, but surprisingly, I've already had a guy pay the $4, post bogus info, and then complain when I didn't upgrade them. When I checked the second time, (after the complaint), I found info showing that he had spammed other forums. So, I banned him altogether. And, I got $4 for banning him. Made me happier, if not much richer.

Anyhow, now there are 2 routes to a Registered+ status. Buy a regular subscription (for 1 - 5 years), and when it expires, you drop back to "Registered+" instead of "Restricted" status. OR, give me $4 to "Check(You)Out", add verifiable --and valid -- personal info to your private profile, and I'll promote you.

This info is NOT visible to anyone but me and the moderators (Aylad, CarlD, Poconos, & Watermom), and I have never sold any data from here (or given it away, either).

But, if you try the CheckMeOut subscription, do NOT use bogus data. You'll just lose the $4 and have to start again!
