    Default Total pool newbie here....

I found this forum from another one that recommended the BBB method. I'm still getting my feet wet (no pun intended!) with this pool/chemical stuff. Had a friend sell us his 18' Metal Frame Intex AGP and just got it up and filled. Patched a couple small holes, but other than that haven't had any problems.

I'm a big supporter of the "Search" feature of web forums, so I'm more of a lurker/searcher/learner than I am a poster, but if there is something just don't get or can't find the answer to, I'll post up the question.

I haven't added any kind of chemicals or anything to the pool yet. It came with a 2500 gph original pump/filter and skimmer that is working great. I'll be getting one of the recommended test kits, but not sure how long it will take to arrive.

Hopefully the water doesn't turn green before then!

It won't turn green, if you keep the chlorine up. Check your CYA or stabilizer level (get it tested if you need to) and then adjust your chlorine by following the Best Guess Chart, linked in my signature.

You can also use the link in my signature for Google Custom Search of PoolSolutions and the PoolForum. If you want to use the vBulletin native search, you'll need to upgrade to Registered+ status. This post
    http://www.poolforum.com/pf2/showthread.php?14120
    explains how.
