I've seen it done, multiple times. It usually doesn't work out the way people imagine.

+ I've never heard of anyone who like a 'bubble' enclosure, after the first year.
+ I've seen treated wood & polycarb corrugated roofing used successfully, in the form of a double or triple wall 'greenhouse'.

But, many folks find the economical enclosures confining and depressing on the inside. Where I've seen such enclosures be successful, the users had a strong purpose for the pool, for example a health need that STRONGLY motivated them to do water aerobics daily.

Keep in mind that in Nova Scotia (I checked your posting IP) you will have to be VERY careful about snow loading and freezing issues.
