    Default Pea gravel?

Do you recommend using pea gravel in the bottom of sand filters? I have a Ranger RS24 (24" diamter) sand filter for a 27,000 gal. vinyl pool.

*ONLY* if it is recommended by the mfg of YOUR filter. Dunno what a "Ranger RS24" is, so you'll need to look at the manual.

With some laterals, pea gravel is needed. By the way, do NOT put either gravel OR sand in your filter without FIRST adding enough water to cover the laterals with 2+" of water.
