    Default Drain Leak

    I live in Orlando FL but am part owner of a hotel in Greenville NC. The spa has a fairly quick leak that is not effecting the pool. There are two drains but I do not know how many pipes going back to the pump. When it was first looked at there was sand in the spa, they did something to correct that. BUT, they say they will have to tear up the tiled floor to find the leak. From what I read on line they should be able to locate the leak thru the pipe and then be able to re-line the pipe. Question is since there a very few pool contractors in the area how do I find someone to repair the leak? Does re-lining the pipe work, make sense? Use a pool contractor, or a plumber? Any advice would be great.

    Hi Ken;

    I don't think there is any 'general' answer your question: only local ones. It doesn't really matter what someone, somewhere, can do . . . if no one in YOUR area can do it. Leak detection is tricky, and requires good tech AND good skills, along with a fair amount of luck.

    You might try looking up the phone of the SCP (South Central Pool) wholesaler in your area, call them, and ask who does leak detection in YOUR area. That's really the only relevant answer.

    Good luck.
